VERA is also suited for vision screening outside of local or regional school settings by service providers wishing to screen specific client populations. VERA components have been used as parts of national supplemental educational testing and state-wide itinerant health screening programs.

General attributes of VERA which enable special population screening:

  1. The program is portable and can be used on most laptops running Windows.
  2. Visual acuity fail points can be selected for specific populations.
  3. Reports are immediately available for printing or viewing or can later be batch-printed.
  4. Screening tests can be selected from within the program.

VERA is customizable by contract to suit additional requirements of screening service providers:

  1. Individual VERA reports can be specially worded or formatted.
  2. Private-label versions complete with customized graphics, screens and/or reports may be available.
  3. Some of the individual VERA components (i.e., visual acuity testing and reporting) are available individually for use within a client’s PC-based general health or educational screening program.
  4. VERA’s data output can integrate with databases of certain health records management software..
